Parents in several Yangon schools told their students to tell their parents to decide whether they should risk to send their children to schools as more military soldiers are suddenly stationed across Yangon metropolitan after 1027 operation. Rumours circulates in Yangon and surrounding townships that the junta army is now losing heavily their soldiers on combat and hundreds deserted their bases just within one month since October 27, 2023 after 1027 Operation. The junta is now preparing to conscript as young as 16 in schools or in public places to reinforce their depleting soldiers to defend it’ capital, Naypyidaw since they are now cornered by people defence forces and Northern alliance troops nationwide.
According to Irrawaddy report, as many as 14,000 junta soldiers are now preparing to defend Naypyidaw. Residents in Yangon are now in fear of even going to buy household needs especially young boys are mostly targeted by junta for conscription. Visitors from other places to Yangon are now in fear of junta and their stooges especially visitors from red areas such as Shan, Kachin, Karenni, Karen, Chin, Sagaing, Rakhine and Magwe are considered people involved in resistance offensive against junta.
Chin Community in Canada is in contact with people in Yangon and in Chin state regarding the conflict situation unfolding every day between the junta and resistance movement. One undisclosed man who doesn’t want his name to be known in public Yangon told Chin Community of Canada that he is now in hiding since he was just deported from Malaysia where he was arrested as illegal immigrant and deported. He said he didn’t know the whereabouts of his two deportee friends after three days although they were able to contact each other by for two days. He fears that they might be caught by junta soldiers as they were asked the address where they will stay in Yangon and also told them they should report to ward authorities if they are going to leave Yangon. The junta is now facing life or death against resistance forces and could turn themselves into mad bull running berserk into the city and catch everyone to use them as their last shields.
