The inhumane military junta cold-bloodedly bombed Vomthu public hospital in Mindat town, Chin State at midnight in April 25, 2024 killing at least 5 civilians and injuring 30 others half them seriously. The terrorist regime is now indiscrimately targeting civilian’s homes and places where they believe they can kill the most people. The terrorist junta allegedly said that the reason they bombed hospitals and clinics is because most of the wounded people defence forces were taking treatment there. In fact most people in hospitals and clinics are civilians who are taking medical treatment after the terrorist junta indiscrimately bombed several homes in towns and villages across Chin state, Magwe and Sagaing divisions.
The civilians in Chin state are now living in fear everyday as the terrorist junta is now acting amok and created havoc for all livelihood.
Worse to the woe, Indian government is now planning to start border closure by May 1, 2024 which means the Indian government will fence 1640 km long border which included the entire border between Chin State and Mizoram State of India. In the past, Myanmar and India have an agreement under Free Movement Regime (FMR) which allows freedom of movement within 16km between Chin State and Mizoram and free travel to either sides of the borders.
FMR alleviates the suffering of Chin people much to the extend while the terrorists junta is continuously bombing villages which forced thousands to approach the border for safety. In this crucial time, International and UN must act now in urgency to protect thousands of innocent civilians from Myanmar fleeing into India to escape the terrorist attack. It will not be just a fatal mistake but an offence to knowingly neglect more than two million Myanmar civilians displaced by civil war including thousands of innocent children at the hands of terrorist regime. The world must rally behind UN to protect Myanmar civilians who have been ruthlessly ruled by successive terrorist regime for over 60 years.
